Aruba with kids

We just got back from Aruba a couple of weeks ago. I would suggest any of the high rise resorts on Palm Beach because that's where all the action is although some people swear by the all inclusive at the Tam and Divi on Eagle Beach. I'm not familiar with what the Palm Beach resorts offer, but from the beach, they looked like they had a lot to offer. Big pools, pool tables, activities, hot tubs, games, lots of kids, etc. I would do research on visitaruba.com. They have great trip reports and you can get an idea of all the various resorts and activies. There is also a great bulletin board where you can get knowledgable answers.

My impression was that La Cabana had the most activities for kids, and the most kids. It has various room configurations (studio, 1BR, 2 BR).

We stayed at a smaller hotel that had no children's programs.

There is a small road between La Cabana and its beach, but it looked like a non-issue to me.

I've also heard that the Divi (all-inclusive) is a good place for families.

Don't stay at the Marriot.
I went last summer with my two kids, 7 and 11. There was nothing for them, except a baby sitting room with one tv and a Nintendo system.
They were too old for a bucket and shovel at the beach and too young for any of the watersports ( banana boat, skiing, parasailing, etc.) Mind you, all the extras were additional and quite expensive.

I have stayed at the LaCabana and it does have what seemed like a very extensive program for kids and there were a lot of kids there. The place is very large though and we did not feel like we were overrun with kids and were not bothered by them. Our suite was great and the staff was great while we were there. We were asked if we wanted to view the time share talk and were not pursued when we told them we were not interested.
