My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) will be spending a week in Aruba in mid-June. This is our first time to the Caribbeans. We will be staying at a resort in Palm Beach. Please help with restaurant suggestions. We are interested in good food (preferably local food) at a reasonable price. Is it possible to find local food in the Palm Beach area?

I like Smokey Joes, Iguana Joes downtown. Whacky Wahoos has great prices, and fish. I stay at Divi Resorts the Links. I find it hard to get a bad meal in Aruba. All the food is good. If the teenagers are picky you can always opt for the American chains. TGIF,'s Wendy's Tony Romas. There are many options for eating in Aruba. If you want a very nice place which you need a taxi, try Madamn Jeanettes. You will not be sorry it is amazing. Probably best to make reservations just to be sure. You can do that from home prior to leaving. It depends on what kind of food you like as well. Aruba has it all. I love Aruba!! It remains my one of my favorite island destinations.

We loved Madame Jeannette - great food, atmosphere, and service. Even though the place is huge, it was completely filled. We had to make our reservation 3 days ahead.

Wacky Wahoo was closed for three weeks - so disappointed.

Someone at the hotel recommended Zerover. Great place for fresh fish. Eating dock side was also lots of fun.

So nice of you to report back to us. Most people do not. I am so glad you liked Madame Jeannette--usually this time of year it is with ease to get a reservation but it seems summer is also becoming a popular time to visit Aruba.

Wacky Wahoo's closed? I heard they were enlarging the restaurant--I hope they are open in January. That is when we will go to Aruba. Zerover? Must be new or would be new to me--not familiar with that one. I will try it when I return in January.

I am told that Wacky Wahoo closes every year for three weeks. I guess we were just unlucky in our timing.

I spelled the restaurant wrong. It is Zeerover. Pretty cool place. You pick the fish by the piece and shrimp by the pound (extremely fresh). They then cook it for you (deep fry only). You also have the option to add side dishes like plantain, corn bread, onion in vinegar etc. Drinks are quite reasonably priced. The restaurant is kinda hard to find...
