Wow x-mas dinner in Cayman I am so jealous. I have never been to warm climate for x-mas and think it would be so much fun.

I am not sure if any of the restaurants serve special menus on holidays or which ones are open. There is a site www.caymanrestaurants.com which has locations, websites and some menus. If you are staying in a larger hotel you should consult the conceirge. You can even do that before you get down there.

Most restaurants that I tried and loved where all about the same price. Appt. $5-8 USD, Entrees $20-$28USD, dessert $5-8 USD. But they where on the high end for Cayman.

What kinds of food are you looking for?
And how much did you want to spend per person? Where are you staying? I am sure I can come up with a recommendation. If not I have the number for the Concierge at the Hyatt from when I stayed there and I am sure she can help.

We're staying at a private home which I understand is about 7 miles from the airport. I'll have to get more info on the exact location (have been depending on my son to take care of those details). If we could find something w/entrees in the $15-$20 (US) range, that would be great.

Unfortunately, only a few of us are into seafood so any restaurant that includes a varied menu would be fine.

CJ

Juli, are you the one who said your favorites are Smugglers Cove and Reef Grill? Those restaurants post their menus on their sites, www.smugglers.ky and www.reefgrill.com. The prices on the menus are listed in CI dollars, not US dollars. So they are 25% higher than the prices you listed.

Wanda:
I was close. I looked at the menu and the apps, entree and dessert I chose fell into my price ranges. But my average was slightly off. I apologize.I also forgot to mention to CJ that the 15% tip is automatically added in most restaurants
The majority of the money I spent on Cayman was for meals so I didnt watch every penny.
CJ:
Those 2 places (reef grill ans smugglers cove) where worth every penny though. They where my favorites. You will pay a higher price for beef then for other entree items.
Some good places I heard about that may be in that price range are Ragazzi's Lighthouse,Benjamins Roof, Cracked Conch by the Sea and I likes the Almond Tree. I think they where in that price range. You might want to check to see if any of the major hotels have a holiday buffet, I believe the Hyatt has one as well as the Westin.
