Moving to Providenciales
My Husband and I are moving from Key Largo to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. Can anyone describe the different areas or suggest which areas are the best to live (Leeward, Chalk Sound, Long Bay, Taylor Bay etc.)? Thank you for your help!

What's your monthly budget? Please I close for utilities, etc
Will you be working? If yes do you have a work permit, and work should be helping secure a place
Will you buy a car?
Have you ever been?
Plan to buy or rent?
Retirement?
Plan to get residency?
Do you know anyone on island?
Not trying to pry-- I've owned on island for 14 years and have helped many with buying, renting, retiring on island.
This questions help me help you

#1 rule, go live a month like locals do (not real vacation) but without working. Find out all you can about permits, laws, etc
Know a couple of things--
You'll probably need a Belonger (Islander) partner--tread carefully
You can't work even for free without a work permit. They're in no hurry to issue them, could be anywhere from months to a year. Ultra expensive--and expensive to renew every year
You must hire Belongers
There are 2 businesses for sale currently--Gelato for 87,000, and the very popular Shay Cafe. You might want to consider an established popular business first. Might want to talk to the owner about it too
Rent will be hard, you need roughly 6 months worth of living expenses, and it's a very costly island! (think water bills run $250, electric runs $700-$1400 monthly, etc)
There are 2 very popular established French places, Le Bouchon, and Caicos Bakery--speak to them. Le Bouchon owners have been on island for more than 20 years
Good Luck!
