Hi,

My husband and I are looking for a fairly upscale all-inclusive place in T&C for a trip in March with our one-year-old child. We don't usually go the all-inclusive route, but we want to be able to just relax at our resort and not *have* to drive or walk too far for meals, since we'll have our son (who still takes 2 naps) with us. A great stretch of beach is a must, as is a fairly nice pool. We'd like to have good food - although we know we'll be somewhat limited if we don't want to leave our resort. We'd prefer better food and less included in the price (i.e., 3 meals, 2-3 courses each w/ non-alcoholic drinks) over lesser quality food and more food/alcohol included. And we'd like to have the option to hire a reliable nanny/babysitter through the resort for an afternoon or evening out. As for our budget, we're looking to pay somewhere around 800/nt. for all of us.

We're not considering Beaches for a number of reasons, but mostly because our son is too young to take advantage of the Kids Club and we'd like to go someplace a little quieter (and with better food). We looked at Regent Palms (looks great!), but based on reviews it seems it might not be as well-suited for a toddler as some other places. We've been looking a lot at Veranda, and it seems to fit the bill - but some reviews raise concerns about consistency of service as capacity increases. Anyone have experience there, with or without very young kids? What about Windsong? Any other recommendations?

We've never been to T&C, but have been to Harbour Island (as well as other places in the Caribbean) and loved it there. Any help would be appreciated!

As I'm sure you you've realized, there are only a few all-inclusive properties in the Turks & Caicos - Beaches, Verandah, and the adults only Club Med Turquoise. This is because most of the hotels, aside from Beaches, are smaller and therefore home to only 1-2 restaurants. All-inclusive meal plans are more popular at hotels where there is more dining variety. I am very excited about the new Verandah as an option for families like yours but so far, I've only sent adult couples here. They have enjoyed it, but did mention that they wishes there was one more restaurant. It is right next door to Beaches so you can stroll by and see if you'd like to return and stay there in the future. Beaches Turks and Caicos is unique to the Beaches family because it really does appeal to adults to so I wouldn't necessarily not book it because you think the kids club would be a wasted investment. They have 16 restaurants so great options for the AI meal plan. If you want an upscale experience, then stay in the Italian Village.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't realize the three places you mentioned are the only AI places in T&C. I guess our resort wouldn't have to be AI, provided it had a couple of good restaurants on-site. I just don't want to have to leave the premises for every meal, and I thought an AI resort would be able to best provide us with that ability.

You seem to know a lot about the resorts on Provo. Are there any non-AI resorts that jump out as good options for what I've described?

Also, I thought Veranda had 2 restaurants - is that not the case?

I would like to thank you all for this thread. We are looking at booking at the Veranda for our family of 5. It just seems to good to be true. Not that it will be an inexpensive trip, but the reviews for this resort seem to be great. can anyone share any bad experiences with this resort or any insights for vacationing in t&c in July.

Many resorts offer meal plans, Regent Palms and Grace Bay Club come to mind. Grace Bay Club has an excellent kids town facilty including babysitting.

Veranda also has an excellent kid's club, and I think they have babysitting too. My daughter has used it and loves it.

For me, it sounds like Veranda is your fit. It's upscale, has excellent service. The food is good, but you might want to get off property because there are some excellent restaurants in Provo. The beachfront there is gorgeous, but a little more narrow than other sections. (this is only compared to other sections of Grace Bay, not other beaches in the Caribbean.)

For me, sounds like Veranda is it for you.

9 couples (all adults) went to Beaches last year...We had a ball. I agree with Caribbean Trips - stay in the Italian Village - this resort is wonderful - for adults and kids.
