Looking for a safe island, perfect for a villa/vacation rental

Jump to last reply

Background: We have been to Jamaica, Bermuda, Barbados, and Aruba. We loved Jamaica, Bermuda, and Barbados. I was not too keen on Aruba. It was very "busy" and a bit Americanized for my taste. I'll return to Jamaica one day but we are not too big on the all inclusive thing. We prefer to rent villas/apartments which we were able to do in Bermuda and Barbados.

Although we just got back from Barbados I am already looking into options for my next trip. Does anyone have any suggestions?

- We do intend to go the villa route, so "safer" islands are ideal.
- We like islands with a chilled out vibe, but that have nightlife available if possible.
- We love beautiful, CALM, beaches with white sand and turquoise water.
-Islands that have accommodation for all budget types are ideal. Bermuda/Barbados are both "expensive" islands, but we made do just fine.

As of now, I am interested in Curacao, Martinique, and Turks & Caicos.
Thanks for any and all suggestions :)
