We were at Hawksbill in May. It's not a bad place at all. The rooms are large and airy, the beach front ones are like having your own private beach. The beaches are small but nice, there is some snorkeling off shore.

The food was expensive and not worth the money and a lot of the time the service was terrible. I would stay there again, but I would go someplace else to eat.

You might try www.antigua-barbuda.org for more info on Antigua. Their newsgroup has several local Antiguans on it who can give you "insider" information on the island.

We stayed at the Rex in 98. It's a BIG resort and most of the clientele is British. We did not do the all-inclusive, and we really enjoyed sampling the local restaurants. Some friends who did the all-inclusive complained about the quality of food and service, but I have no input on that.

My husband and I were at the Hawksbill in April of 2000...we loved the resort. The rooms are large and clean...we stayed in the indivual cottages directly on the beach...the beaches are wonderful...the restaurant was OK...we ate out most every night...I would definately stay there again...Antigua is absolutely beautiful!
