Grenada

Does anyone have any idea why Fodor's has no listing for this island in the Caribbean section. I'm interested in hotel reviews -- specifically Laluna. Thanks.

I've seen discussion on this at the boards here; maybe typing in Laluna spelled differently (i.e., LaLuna, or La Luna) in the text search might help; not sure, tho.

You can also check 'Wheretostay.com' for Caribbean hotels in Grenada, I believe.

Hope this helps; I remember seeing very good things about it.

There is an extensive review on La Luna in the "Best of Where to Stay" section on wheretostay.com

GM, what do you want to know? We went in May - it's a great hotel.

XXX
How was the food? How was the beach? It sounds like a casual resort. If you've been to Biras Creek in BVI or Peter Island, how does it compare? Thanks for your input

Karen, the food was outstanding. We did not do the meal plan, but ended up eating most meals there since the food was the best around ("Chef" is worth getting to know - a really wonderful, talented man).

It is a casual resort, quite small and personal. It is not fancy, but the rooms were great (loved the bathrooms) and the service was great.

I have only had drinks at Biras Creek (did not see the rooms), but I would say they are nothing alike (I did not like the beach situation at Biras or how spread out everything was). I think Biras is more upscale.

The beach at La Luna is very nice, and there are many other beautiful easily accessible beaches on Grenada.

La Luna is a special place. I didn't think I would like the fact that it was so small, but that turned out to be the best part. We met many wonderful people (staff and guests alike). We spent most days on the beach even though we had plans to go out and about because it is so peaceful there.

You can't go wrong with La Luna or the BVIs, but if I can help with anything else I would be pleased to do so.
XXX
Thanks for your input. LaLuna sounds divine -- small and tranquil. Will probably end up booking there, but I still have a few more places I'd like to check out.
