Galley Bay Deluxe Beachfront Rm Help
My husband and I are ready to book a package deal with a deluxe beachfront room at Galley Bay. We would like a first floor room so we can walk right out to the beach, but I have read that there may be some issue of privacy with this. Are there certain Dlx beachfront rooms that are better than others that I should try to request?
Also, my husband and I are both good swimmers. Is there any reson to believe that the occasional roughness of the water that I have read about at Galley Bay would prohibit us from swimming?
Thanks for your help!

We stayed in deluxe beachfront this past March. We requested a room between #14-18 and stayed in 14 if I remember correctly. These were the most private of all in our opinion. It was at the end of the resort so it was much quieter. It would be on the right of the property as you face the ocean. We were on the end of the building which had 5 units so it was very private. On the other end of resort on the beach are I believe the highest level room category. These were much closer together and alot more people so not as private. We literally were right out the door and on the beach. The water was very rough when we were there and the last 2-3 days we were not able to go in. I have never heard waves crash so loudly. And being so close with only louvers on windows not glass, boy was it loud at night. Sometimes it was so loud I thought it was going to come right through our room. My husband is good swimmer but it was absolutely too rough those last few days. Way higher waves than I have seen at Jersey shore when there is a storm or hurricane out to sea. But all that aside it is a really nice beach and when you are there maybe it won't be so rough. And again I think the location of our room was ideal from privacy standpoint. We had our own thatched hut with chairs right out our back door.
I had requested via fax about 6 days in advance for room 14-18 as suggested by someone on internet. It worked!
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Again it could have just been that it was winter. I read alot of reviews on tripadvisor.com and others mentioned the rough water also. I think it is probably hit or miss but summer pre-hurricane could be when it is most calm. It is the Atlantic and not Caribbean Ocean
