Dear Trylmom
I hear FDR has really gone down in the past years. I would suggest www.bluefieldvillas.com where you can have all your needs taken care of and stay at a beautiful seaside villa. San Michele Vlla , one of the five Villas is great for children. They have swimming, kayaks etc. Also nannies, butlers , chef and housekeepers.I have stayed here and will never do the AL thing again as this price is great and is so much better. Ask about discounts.

If you total up all the cost at FDR and then the one cost at the Vila's then you will see the comparison. But this is so much better for a holiday. Unforgettable!

I had to step in here.....Been to FDR Runaway Bay 4 times now. We were just there last December. IMHO it has not gone "down hill" at all. In fact I feel they've gotten better since they added the 2nd pool and spa area. Its if fancy.....no. But it's clean, well run and VERY friendly. Your kids will have a ball.

As for the cooking.......I guess the nannies will do it. We've never tried that since there is always plenty of food available otherwise.

You'll have a good time I promise!

You're fine at FDR/Bluefields Villas a bit too posh for a family 3 small kids. Have your driver stop in MoBay before you head for FDR at Westgate Shopping Center or the SuperPlus big grocery stroes to stock up on Pampers, etc. Most formula/Gerber baby foods available and pricing will be better than in Boscobel/Ocho Rios area. Long-life irradiated boxed milk recommended over fresh since latter spoils in a day or so. If your kids have snack/comfort foods, bring them, since rarely will you find on island.
