Cruise advice for San Juan

Planning a cruise in February on Royal Caribbean out of San Juan. Wondering if it is financially smarter to fly in the day before and stay at a hotel or fly in the day of the cruise? And if we fly in early, is there a hotel recommendation?

It's always better to fly in the day before the cruise leaves just in case there are issues with the airlines. Mechanical malfunctions, canceled flights, delayed flights, etc.

If you can, you might consider staying 2-3 nights before and actually seeing the sights before the cruise. We are planning a future cruise on Celebrity that leaves from PR and wanted to do that.

Sorry I don't have any hotel recomendations, but you might want to check Cruise Critic for additional information.

I'm a big fan of the Caribe Hilton. Although I wouldn't pay the website price to stay there I oftentimes get it in the 80-100 dollar price range on priceline. Unless you have a specific preference to an exact location to stay you can't really go wrong buy booking any of the resorts through priceline.
