Back from Boscobel Beach in Jamaica

Just got back from Jamaica and stayed at Boscobel Beach. We had an o.k. experience, but not what I expected from a superclubs resort. If anyone has any questions, please post.

Dear Mayou,
My wife and I are going with our 2 and a half year old daughter to Boscobel Beach in late January/early February.
What advice to you have for us? It will be our first trip to Jamaica. What did you like and not like about the resort? Hope to hear from you. HH

I'm considering taking my 3 kids there for Feb. vacation. How are the facilities? How long is the drive from the airport to the hotel? What didn't you like?

Mayou, my thoughts completely! We have done quite a bit of traveling, and I have stayed at nicer, cleaner, friendlier 3 star resorts. Considering the price and that it is a 5 star place, it was very disappointing. We had to change rooms 3 times before I didn't find any cockroaches hiding out. My husband had money stolen from his belongings by his beach chair on the pool deck, staff seemed sarcastic and bored. I will not return there, or Jamaica. Why, when there are so many other choices.

The place needed a thorough cleaning and some remodeling done. Maybe the people who rate resorts on being a 5 star, etc. need to take cleanliness into consideration. This place had decent food and an o.k. beach, but was the dirtiest resort I have stayed at in 10 years of traveling.
