Anguilla vs. Turks & Caicos and St. John vs. Tortola
Can you tell me more about Anguilla vs. T&C and St. John vs. Tortola, (USVI vs BVI). Looking for convenience in getting around, pretty water/beaches, good food, med cost, sightseeing, etc. Have never heard a negative word about Tortola but it doesn't seem very popular, any reasons ?

You're right, not much buzz about Tortola, but I think most of the BVI's like to keep it that way. Loved Long Beach resort. It's a very hilly island, tough to walk, so you need a car to get around. It's fun to take the ferry to nearby BVI's to explore. I would go back again.

i just returned from tortola and loved it. the beaches are beautiful. a car is necessary, but the trips to the beaches are worth it. Smugglers, Breewers Bay, are beautiful, secluded. Very blue water, and some good snorkeling. You can do day sails in Tortola, go to Virgin Gorda, Anegada and other islands during your stay. I was deciding between Turks and Caicos and Tortola and most people guided me towards Tortola and we were very happy there.

We just spent a week in st. thomas last month and chartered a boat to go around the virgin islands. The virgin island are beautiful. If i were to pick a favorite virgin island though, I would say that St John would be my choice by far. Although i have never been to Anquilla or T&C, one of my co-workers just came back from anguilla and another just came back this weekend from T&C (2 years in a row for him at T&C) and they both absolutely loved the island that they visited. So i think that you will enjoy and of the islands that you are considering. Good luck
