10th Anniversary Location Needed

Hi...I'm confused....we've been to St. Kitts and Nevis for our honeymoon and now 10 years later we have an opportunity to go somewhere for 5 days/4 nights the end of April (the "P's" will watch the kids--God Bless them!). Now, where should we go? Criteria: Not too long of a flight...leave from Philly or Newark and be there for an afternoon swim and happy hour. Must have beachfront suite, not cost an arm and leg. We don't want to do much more than decide beach or pool, beer or frozen something...no diving, no shopping just fine wine and dining. We have narrowed our choices to Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados but are open to other suggestions.

Please help--we'd love to hear from you...

Bermuda is close but a bit "pricey". St Martin, British Virgin Islands should also be considered.

If you just want to relax, enjoy the beach, ocean, sun, great food, outstanding service, and nothing else- (and I repeat nothing else)try Grand Cayman. Its a little expensive, but you can get good deals with American Airlines vacations or similar. If you can, stay at the Westin. Its the best resort/ hotel on the island, and also has two very nice restaurants right on the beach. If you decide not to stay at the Westin, make sure you get a place on Seven mile beach.

Would you consider Anguilla. American flies from PHL to San Juan and connects with American Eagle to Anguilla. For further information on this island that has an abundance of beautiful beaches, please email me.

St. Lucia has many choices in accomodations and is a beautiful island - perfect for relaxation or.....lots of fun, too! We stayed at Sandals Halcyon which sounds like it may not be what you are looking for (lots of activities, etc. = but then again, we mostly relaxed) It was nice, because it was couples only.......no kids for a whole week! The food at the 2 Sandals properties were terrific and we definetly ate and drank our money's worth! We also enjoyed catamaran sails, kayaking, and snorkeling. Mostly, though...we just relaxed around the pool and beach. We thought St. Lucia was a very charming island, with freindly locals and Sandals Halcyon offered everything we were looking for and more.
If you are looking for a more laid back resort on St. Lucia = look into Anse Chastanet resort (very relaxing and tropical - exotic) or Ladera resort or Jalhousie Hilton. These ones may be a bit pricier than Sandals Halycon though.

All inclusives cheaper than Sandals are Wyndham Morgan Bay and Rendezvous and Le Sport. I've read good things about other villa-type accomodation resorts like Windjammer and some in the Marigot Bay area.

Good luck and have fun.

Late April is perfect, because caribbean rates drop dramatically after April 15. In St. Lucia, check out www.ladera-resort.com
Heaven on earth - no beach, no noise, no TV, no phone. Breathtaking views (especially from the pool), great food and wine. Romantic to the max.
In Jamaica, try
www.dragonbay.com
Dragon Bay in Port Antonio is what Jamaica used to be. No higglers on the beach. Ridiculously cheap after April 15: US $115 double per night. Be sure to fly Air Jamaica from Montego Bay ($100 p/p RT); otherwise, it's a 5-hr. drive each way!
Good luck!
