using luxury link?

Ok: I've finally got my air reservations in order for our early Sept. trip to the Rockies. Now to start booking our hotels. Of course I've got sticker shock (we want to stay at "upper end" accommodations.)
Question: I've never used Luxurylink (or anything like it) in my (long) life of traveling. I've just always been wary-- have always booked directly with hotels, counting on promotions, various discounts, etc. But no such animals ( (big discounts) seem to apply to this area. So: I'd be grateful if folks who've used Luxurylink will tell me something abt it. Mainly that they've been perfectly happy with the way it works, no problems, etc. Thanks!!!

I have never used luxury link, but just took a look, and don't think that anything listed looks like a real deal. Are you looking at the Fairmont properties? Have you been to their website? (www.fairmont.ca) Here you can find all of the specials and packages for each of their hotels. I think you will do better than at luxurylink.

saltymuffin: thanks for responding. I was actually checking about Rimrock (where I think we'll be happier than at Banff Springs Fairmont). I'm not interested in hotel packages because I never want tghe kind of deal that includes meals (because we don't eat that much-- e.g. we skip lunch and usually enjoy coffee and bought croissant or whatever in our room). (nor do we do spas) Rates for Rimrock were consideralby less on luxurylink than calling the hotel directly (or going through their parent company, Luxury Hotels of the World.) Perhaps someone else will respond-- I hope so!

I have used Luxury Link several times and been absolutely delighted with the hotels, the treatment and the ease. No "stigma" attached as I have sometime sensed with Priceline buys.

I looked again, and am still amazed that these are better than the prices that you can get with the hotel - especially if you aren't looking for a package. Maybe I'm missing something, and not in the right area, but I only see packages . . .

Keep in mind that the prices on this website are in US$, and the price on a property website, or by calling in person are in CAD$.
