Hotel Recommendations in Vancouver
Our family of five will be arriving in Vancouver a couple of days before our cruise departs. Do you have any suggestions for a conveniently located hotel? Is getting around Vancouver relatively easy via public transportation?

There are several hotels that are right there at the Canada Place Terminal - we stayed at the Pan Pacific one year and it's a wonderful hotel.
There are also some hotels that are downtown but a few blocks away from the Terminal. We stayed at the Hyatt one year (non-cruise) and it was very close to Robson Street where all the shopping and some good restaurants are located. The kids had a ball shopping!
What is your budget?

The other hotel right at Canada Place is the Fairmont Waterfront which is a very nice hotel too.
There are any number of good hotels within 5-10 blocks. Vancouver's a very easy city to walk in actually...I usually do that rather than taking a bus or the Skytrain but that is an option. Or you can get a pass for one of the hop on/hop off services.
Knowing your budget, as mentioned, would be helpful.

Since there are 5 of you, you might look into a 1 or 2 BR apt at Le Grande Residence at the Sutton Place Hotel. I've seen them come up under or near your budget this summer since rates are lower than usual due to the economy.
It's in a great central location and just a short cab ride from Canada Place.
