Activity Suggestions for Quebec City + Montreal for 10 days
I am going to Quebec City and Montreal for about 10 days at the end of June.
Q1: Should I fly into one city and out the other OR fly in and out of one city? I read the train service btw. Quebec City and Montreal is like 3 hours so that isn't too bad.
Q2: How many days should I spend in each city?
Thanks in advance.

Flying into one city and out of another is always a good bet. But these two cities are not equal: International travel from QC is much less available than from Montreal Trudeau. Not knowing where you are coming from, I will have to leave it up to you to do the multi-destination search. Be aware that the Montreal jazz festival, the world's biggest, starts at the end of June. Lots of shows are free but the paid concerts have been on sale for a couple of months. It also fills up the hotel accommodations.
Both train and bus are viable ways to move between the two cities and see some of the countryside.

Southam - Thank you for the response. I am flying in from Maine. I checked the airlines and I will have to fly through NYC or Detroit.
I plan on AirBnB the lodging and be more fluid with my time/days in each city. Is there a difference in train fares if I buy them ahead of time or at the last minute?

VIARail does claim to have sales prices for tickets purchased on Tuesday. Prices vary depending on days of the week, holidays etc. Last-minute deals are unlikely. I do not know for certain, but I don't think the price scales are as dynamic as with no-frills airlines. All tickets in the corridor where you are travelling now include a seat reservation, in both economy and business, reducing the need to line up at the station (although many still do, maybe to claim easier luggage storage.) Print-at-home tickets are also convenient.

I just posted some suggestions for things to do on another thread about Montreal

As I said there, the tourism website is a good one with lots of information about events and the different neighborhoods.
