Hi
Could a recent traveller or local to Sydney please explain what sort of travel pass I should be buying? I think I want a MyMulti week pass but I am confused as to whether that includes the airport train.
I am going to be there for a week partly for work and travelling on my own staying in what I presume will be the CBD for a conference. I get in Tuesday early evening and intend to take the train into town then use public transport to wander around Sydney in my free time.
Thanks for the help!!

Unfortunately Wilees no it does not. An extra $15.40 or cheaper if you are a Senior.
We found the multi pass very useful for a 4 day stay in Sydney and 3 days in the Blue Mountains--took the train there and back on the same ticket. Nice to have for the ferries, too. We knew there was an airport entrance fee but were a bit surprised at the $12.50 we had to pay. We are seniors but have no concession card so assumed we paid the full rate. I don't think you have to pay when coming into town from the airport, but I could be wrong. Cheaper than a cab for just one, probably.
Just noticed that a poster on another thread stated that taxi fare to the airport wold be about $40-$50, so the multi pass looks attractive even with the airport fee.
You do actually have to pay going AND coming on the train from the airport.
Thanks guys. Still deciding whether it will be worth it with the extra gate pass included.
Do I need to pay the $12.50 charge for the airport even if I take a cab or a friend drives me to the airport or only if I use public transportation? Is there a $12.50 charge each way, to/from the airport?
Is the 1 week multi pass (level 1) good for the Blue Mountain trip or if not, may I just pay the for that one trip? Thanks.
If you are not using the train you do not pay the gatepass. If you do use the train both ways , you pay the gatepass both ways.
Thanks, Peteralan.
You should definitely go along with the multi pass, i used the same when i visited the Blue Mountains
