Outback Jeep Tour
Has anyone done this? I can't seem to find the outfit that does this....its a 4wd jeep ride to the outback ( 2 hours )to have breakfast and watch the Roos come out for feeding in the am.....I am looking for some adventure to the outback for a half or full day....thanks!

You will be hard pushed to get to the outback and back from any of the coastal cities in just a day.
Our tours are generally 12 to 14 days in duration
As far as feeding of any of the native fauna is concerned, it's a NO - NO, unless you have special dietary pellets.
Even then it's a bad practice.
Better re-think your itinerary.

Hello Susan,
I note from another thread you started that you'll be going to the Daintree area. You also mentioned that you were working with a tight time frame. Since that is the case, I think Far North Queensland would be your best starting point for reaching the Outback.

basically, I was speaking with a USAIRWAYS rep. who said she had taken this 2 hour 4wd tour to the outback...she was offered a cold breakfast as they sat to watch the Roos come out for their am feeding...we wouldn't be feeding them, just watching. I have yet to find the outfit she used. Sounded like I could leave from my hotel in Sydney to do this....maybe not! Any other suggestions?

Susan, it sounds like it was the airline rep's use of the term "outback" that created the confusion. The tour takes you to the lower Blue Mountains, less than 50 miles from Sydney's city centre. While the location of the Outback is indefinable, most would agree that it starts several hundred miles west of Sydney. (Don't let that deter your from the tour, though.)
