Octopus Resort
I would like to add a comment about Octopus. It is in the Yasawas
It is a GREAT location, and bure's are excellent, the private outdoor shower connected to each bure is a nice touch. The grounds/gardens are gorgeous.
The snorkling is excellent, the coral gardens are the best I have seen and probably will ever see in my lifetime.
The tour to the village was incredibly enlightening. The kava ceremony there was the best we had while in fiji. IMHO we are invited into the lives of the fiji people, and, they want to share.
I food was ok. Kayaks and other equipment was extra $ (we brought our own snorkling equip)
People were there from London, New Zealand, Ireland, Belguim, San Francisco, Puerto Rico, Australia. Fun bunch of people, one rainy day we spent playing guitar and singing in a few different languages.
The only thing that was hard to get used to was being limited to approx. 100 yards without taking a guide with us. This resort really made us relax, I hope that I remember to take some of that 'quiet time' with me forever.

My husband and I also had a good experience at Octopus Resort! We met many interesting people and also had alone time. The bures were great. It was much more developed than we had thought. We also stayed at Otto & Fanny's which we loved esp the food and snorkelling, but it was much more rustic.
