Commander Islands! Remote and Amazing!
I was actually a bit perplexed as to what forum to post this trip report. The Commander Islands are some of the most remote places on earth. They're in the Asian realm I supose, but then again not really. They belong to Russia but then again, they are definitely not appropriate for the European forums....And they are definitely not North America material! Hey! They ARE in the Pacific! Enjoy!

Thank you so much for making this available. The photos are amazing and loved the descriptions of everything. I am going to go back and view your other trips. (p.s. I live close to you in Bellingham).

What an amazing trip you had! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I had not heard of the Commander Islands before but now want to visit them! What time of the year did you go, or did I miss that?

Thanks everyone! Summer is the best time - winter everything is pretty much locked up in ice....But July and August are amazing times and the Commander are well worth the effort to visit!

What a wonderful summer excursion. You had better weather than when I visited your home town; a sea fog enveloped the place. The only bird of note I saw there was a Terrick Sandpiper along the beach in the harbour. My reporting of it to some local birders created quite a stir.
