Yi Peng Festival - Chiang Mai Expert

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are planning a trip to Chiang Mai for the November 2016 Yi Peng and Loy Krathong festival.

I am hoping to book my hotel soon but am not able to find firm dates for the celebration.

Right now I am planning to check in on November 12th and Check out on November 16th.

Questions/Comments:

1.Do my dates sound about right?
2.When will the dates be confirmed?
3.How do you get tickets for the mass lantern release at Mae Jo University? Is this worth going to or is it better to stay in the city of Chiang Mai?
4.What are recommendations for most convenient hotel locations? And hotel recommendations? 137 Pillars looks awesome but is across the river... will this be hard to visit all the Wats?

Please let me know if you have any other recommendations.
