Where to go from Bangkok?

After staying in Bangkok for 4 days I am looking to move on. I'm into an active life style, but also would like some relaxation on a beach. Stuff like waterfalls, cliff jumping, caving, diving, snorkeling or any other heart pumping activities. I noticed that it will rain in Phuket, Krabi, etc for the next week or so. So I come here to ask you guys for where I should head next. I got 9 days left in my trip.

Thanks

Sounds to me like you have time to visit Chiang Mai for a few days first, and then check beach weather.

If it were me, and it isn't, I'd probably go to Sukothai.

Any active activities? The tours organized in Chiang Mai are pretty expensive
