We loved Hong Kong, great weather amazing food and lovely people.
Got back yesterday mornning. Just wanted to check in with a couple of quick things before I do the report.
Firstly I feel a bit niave.......... I had no idea HK was so big. Not sure what I expected but its huge. We've used public transport in London, New York and lots of places in between and Hong Kong is right up there with the ease in which to use. We loved all of it. Only used cabs (which were dirt cheap) to get to and from airport and two nights when DS & I were just too tired to walk to the subway (much to DH disgust ).
We used the subway, tram, local buses, ferries and even the hotel free shuttle. We especially enjoyed the ferry and trams. Felt like we were getting the best site seeing options for just a couple of dollars for all three of us.
DS, the chef, loved the food (so did we) especially walking around the wet markets. Woh, what an eye opener. Nothing is off limits.
The other thing that really surprised and delighted me was the cleanliness of the whole city. So many people and we barely saw any rubbish. I found 'personal space' a bit of an issue but got used to it very quickly. Its just very different to what we are used to. So once you realise that people get very close to you in shops, lining up for things etc you just accept it.
So I will come back and do a full report, just wanted to say thanks as always for all your help.

Yeah it is, sourcing stones there and also materials for an accessories line I'm adding. Will be there for a week so I can squeeze some downtime in to see some sights. Will you be near Florence in August? If so def give me a shout, always fun meeting Fodorites and last year met quite a few over there.
