Volunteering in Bali?
Hi All,
I am currently looking into doing a 2 week trip to Bali, 6-8 days volunteering and the remainder of the time exploring/beaching. I am trying to find nonprofits/NGOs that focus on women's empowerment through education (I have experience teaching english and computer skills) or microfinance opportunities. I've been searching online but haven't found too many organizations like this in Bali (or they don't have websites that are easily findable in english).
Does anyone know of any organizations that might be open to this short term type of volunteer opportunity? I'm not looking for housing or formalized volunteer programs, I'm more interested in organizations that would be receptive to a short term volunteer looking to give back.
Thank you for the help and input!

Here are a few well established organizations that are concerned with women's issues. It seems that they might require a longer commitment than 6-8 days, though.
Bumi Sehat Foundation

Bali WISE

East Bali Poverty Project

You could also research Bumi Sehat's partner NGOs

For short term you might look at these large international volunteer organizations. They look appropriate, but I don't have any personal knowledge of them.

If none of these works out, the folks at Hubud may be able to point you in the right direction.

Rotary is also very active all over Bali. You may be able to tie-in with one of their projects.

To volunteer in Bali, you can also try a wonderful local non-profit organisation, l volunteered last year at named Yaysan Widya Sari (est. 2008). The center is located 100 meters from the sea in a fishing village in the northeast part of Bali, Indonesia.
The teaching programs to children include: English, Arts, Music and Sport.
