Urgent help needed for cheap stay in Ubud

I posted earlier about our son joining us in Ubud in February. We are booked at the Komaneka Monkey Forest but he needs a cheap place to stay from Feb. 12-27 - under $25/night. He'll take anything - hotel, homestay (kos)...etc. He's tried all the places that were recommended earlier but they are fully booked. Obviously he's left it too late and we're starting to panic. Any tips greatly appreciated.

There are tons of places on Monkey Forest Road and nearby that are cheap. Many have no Internet presence. He will be able to walk around the area going place to place, look at available rooms and pick. Better to search in his price range in person anyway, as whAt you vet for that varies widely between dump and very nice. Don't worry. He will find a place once he's there.

Ketut's is full!? In February? What is happening in Ubud?

You might ask the Komen folks for a recommendation.

Here's a link to a few guesthouses:

I saw this ad in the Bali advertiser. I have no other information about it.
A fully furnished room for short or long term rent. 5 mins to Ubud center, close to restaurant and shopping area. E-mail: <stayinubud#yahoo.com> for more info and photos 0813 3612 6557 / (0361) 804 5563. [1433]

Thank you all. I have forwarded all these tips to my son presently on Timor and making his way via Flores to Bali. We leave on Feb 20th to meet up with him arriving on the 22nd. I'm getting so excited about going to this beautiful place and seeing our son again!

At the beach, the Masa Inn is HIGHLY recommended for a 20 something. Clean, cheap, well run, good location.

When we walked to Threads of Life Weaving Gallery in Ubud , we noticed there were several homestays on that particular road. Also lots of young people dining on that stretch, which is about 5 or 6 blocks from the Ubud market.
