We had a day with Tong on November 29, 2006. She was so wonderful, she desrves a post separate from my onging drivel.

We learned about her from this forum. Offwego (Lori) gave her glowing reports. So did Bella Bluebell. I asked for 11/26/06 and was told that she was booked. We settled on 11/29/06. Several weeks later, I broke the bad news that Bob would be coming along.

I E-mailed her that we had done tourist BKK were looking for new things. With some back and forth, we settnled on an intinerary.

One of you Fodorites blabbed to Tong that Bob and I were regular posters and she got nervous. She told us that someone had said that she had been booked by Gpanda. I used my work E-mail (unsurprisingly, it does not contail a reference to our furry Chinese friends) and she had to figure out who I was. This would not have mattered except one week before our day, part of the itinerary appeared to fall through. It got worked out.

I will include the agonizing details in the afore-mentioned drivel post, but I wanted to exclaim over Tong specifically.

We spent 12 hours with her and she was energetic and friendly every moment. We were not. Our activities were superb. We did stuff that we could never have done without her. It was a great day. I highly recommend her to anyone visiting BKK, a first-timer or a vet.

as usual andy has missed all the important facts save one....tong was wonderful and we really enjoyed our time with her....she took us to do things and to places that we had never experienced before....this is exactly what we wanted!! i was very nervous having andy make the reservation with her but for some reason, thanks only to tong, we did have a magnificent day...and contrary to what his nibs has said we were not out of sorts, well maybe 3 of us were not out of sorts...

anxious to hear how nikki and david made out with tong today....

I have to add my 2 cents here. We spent the day with Tong on Nov 2nd and we too just loved her. She constructed exactly the type of day we wanted and she is just delightful. A lovely person.

So sorry I haven't got to writing up a report yet but life has been a bit out of control since we got back. I do plan on doing it though and will ASAP!!!!!

We were with Tong on the 27 and 28th. Have to agree with everyone else here--she's fabulous, works incredible hours and is so pretty (I told her I'd post that last part). She told me that she has bookings for December '07 already, so if you are looking to tour Bangkok and surrounding areas with her, it's not too soon to get in touch with her!

Ok so its 13.00 BKK time and 6am in the uk (got back late last night - cant sleep) but before i do my trip report i wanted to add that the BF and I ADORED TONG she truly is a fantastic guide and we both said that we will definately book her next time we are in BKK.
Each thing we did was with her own little twist and always ready with an interesting fact. I feel like i learnt so much about Thai life from her.She is a lovely funny person (she had a very special greeting for the BF,GPANDA and Bob you KNOW what i am talking about!!!!!)
I can totally see why she is all booked up.
