Thai Transfer Service

Hi,
Has anybody used this service? Have five people travelling (including two infants) to Thailand in August. The Thai Transfer Service is charging us 2300 baht for a round trip from the airport to our Bangkok city hotel. Is this a good deal? Has anybody used this service, are they reliable?

I thought that was free of charge and available only to First Class international passengers?

I don't know this particular company. There are lots of limo services that would charge a similar price for a Mercedes van round trip transfer (which is what I'm assuming you'll get).

I have used both services, South Siam has better customer service.

2300 seems high...but you probably need a van which i think should be about 1500-1800 B

2300 baht for a roundtrip transfer in a van is a very good price, IMO. If it was 2300 for one-way, it would be way too much.

The "Thai" transfer service is the AOT limo service.

Not exactly. I think I wrote that AOT was selling it's stake in the two limo operators, so as not to have a conflict of interest.

The services will go on, but they presumably in future won't be getting preferential treatment - like the ability to acost arriving passengers before anyone else can get a crack at them.

oh, maybe i misunderstood the report then....hopefully the AOT will then allow some of the other operators to have at least a desk at the airport...

Funny thing... I was picking up some company guests at the airport last week, and borrowed one of the parent company's vans and drivers (the parent company is in the IT business). The guests arrived, I called the van to meet me outside the arrivals hall, and away we went - almost.

The police pulled us over at the end of the drive in front of the terminal. They were pulling everyone over. The driver ended up with a ticket because the van didn't have the right 'license' to pick people up at the airport.
