Singapore StopOver Holiday

We've already booked a Singapore Stopover...and now I wonder why?

I paid NZ$178.
I get a bus trip from airport to hotel (A taxi would have been S$7)
Some discount vouchers to go shopping - oh great.
Seven vouchers into attractions - valued at about $70. I pay the travelling cost to each venue. Singapore Stopover get to allocate me a Superior Room, but charge heaps more!
I get to travel on the FREE hop-on hop-off bus!
Have I mistunderstood this deal?
Are there any benefits for the travellers or is this a rip-off?

What company did you book this with? Does it cover your hotel costs? What hotel are you staying at? How long is the stopover?

Did you price the items included in the package before you bought it?

I'd imagine it's booked thru Singapore Airlines, Kathie:

Singapore Stopover Holiday (Hotels + Transfers + Attractions)

•Accommodation for one night at hotel in applicable category
•50% discount on the à la carte food menu at the food outlet at the SSH hotel of your stay
•Transfers between airport and hotel on seat-in-coach basis
•Free rides on SIA Hop-on Bus
•Coffee/tea and toast at Ya Kun
•Free admission to Sentosa Island Resort, National Orchid Garden, Singapore River Bumboat Tour, Jurong BirdPark, Singapore Zoo, Chinatown Heritage Centre, The Battle Box at Fort Canning and Marina Bay Golf driving range

NZ $178 is US$146.

If it includes hotels, it ain't a bad deal.
Rather than hanging around waiting for coach to fill up, if I had my bags, I'd just grab a cab to the hotel and V.V.

As long as it's a good hotel, it is a good deal. I know someone who got a Singapore Airlines Stopover deal and was able to stay at Rafffles for about $100 pp - a fabulous deal.

Some of the stuff is throwaway - like the bus transfer to the hotel. But I'd use the admission to the National Orchid garden (I go every time we are in Singapore), for instance.

Let's see: hotel, the zoo fee and the orchid garden, airport transfers, snack, hop on bus and half off food at sid hotel for that price? That's cheaper than a room at the YWCA!

Wow, looks like a great deal! I am in Singapore next month but too bad I'm flying there on a $45 Air Asia ticket. Otherwise I would book the SingStop too!

Thanks everyone - NZ$178 for the Stopover deal...PLUS NZ$150 PER NIGHT at the FuramaRiverfront Hotel. The Flight Centre told me all Singapore Stopovers are the lowest basic Room, called Superior. Not what I asked for, but what I will get as a Singapore Stopover.

It sounded great in theory, however I don't see $178 worth of goodies in the bag. There are better deals by booking a Hotel online then paying to visit each attraction.

I depart tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

Those deals are usually quite good. When my best friend and her daughter met up with me in Bangkok and then some days later on to Singapore, I was staying at one of my long-time favorites, the YMCA International House Hotel at, 1 Orchard Road. My best friend and her daughter had booked through Singapore Stopover Holiday. They were booked into the Rendevous Hotel which is directly across the street from the YMCA International House Hotel, and they paid less than I did. There are also usually some great deals at the Ritz Carlton and other hotels through the Singapore Stopover Holiday.

So what's wrong with the "Superior" rooms? They look fine to me, and at first glance the hotel gets good reviews on TA. I'd recommend doing the Singapore River Bumboat Tour, Jurong BirdPark, Singapore Zoo, and the Chinatown Heritage Centre, all of which must add up.

The Orchid Garden in the Botanical Gardens is one of my favorite stops in Singapore.

I think maybe too much to do in 1 day and appreciate it. If you get this I would rather skip the River Boat and the Heritage Center and go to Zoo, Botantical Gardens and Burd Park and if time permits 1 hour walking through Little India.
Enjoy.
Sorry you did not get a good deal I am surprised especially with Sinapore Airlines.
