Where are you going from? And are u planning for a stopover? Assume you are going from North America, I would choose Hong Kong. That splits your flying time more even between the two segments. And if you're considering for a stopover, there'll be more to do in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong has a new airport and it was very nice and comfortable. It would be a good place for transfer. Do some shopping or have a drink while you're waiting for your flight.
Both cities are a lot of fun. I don't think you can go wrong having a stopover at either one. I don't know what the rules are for your stopover, but do try to get at least three days. There is plenty to do and see!
Hong Kong. Alot more to do, by far. Singapore is nice, though.
Definitely HK. Singapore is pretty but boring. Not much except mall after mall. HK has more in terms of electronics and souvenirs and is cheaper overall. Singapore feels like one huge US mega-mall.
Another vote for HK. There're more to see and travel around the city compare to Singapore.
I'm from Singapore and I'd go to HK. It has more culture, nightlife and better chinese food. It is also more reminiscent of an asian city. Singapore is more like...Orlando.Everything is manicured and man-made.
