Poheary in January, School Visit
I've seen a lot of posts about people using Poheary in the near future for tour/school visits. I know she's booked 10 january ish and that is about when we thought to go. I'm still waiting for another email from her about the next week but ... if anyone here is planning this between 10 January and the next 14 days and would like to combine effots, can you let me know? We had thought to sponsor uniforms and take art supplies to draw with the kids for about an hour (Ponheary's suggestion, as I taught art and have done things like this in the States).
Yes, I know we've left this for late, but there are still flights and hotels so am hoping to firm up my plans by end of this coming week.
Email is [email protected]

I'm so disappointed no one responded to this post -- I was so excited about the possibility of teaming up with someone else, but I guess that's just not to be. Can't tell you how sad I've been checking the forum daily (ok, more than once daily) and seeing that lonely little 0 for responses.
I even tried to work my schedule around Ponheary's but she's just too popular. Just couldn't make it work this year.
We've decided to do SR another time when we can plan further ahead.
Thanks to everyone who's answered questions etc. as we switched gears. We're booking a flight to Bali after all. Possible side trip to Borobudur -- we'll see.
I can let you all know just how wet and humid it really is

Sorry I couldn't respond about joining you in Siem Reap.
I have been to Bali at Christmas/New Year, and it wasn't so rainy...every day started with sun, and some of them ended with rain, and there was one overnight bad storm that washed out some road near our hotel. We didn't mind in the least it being rainy season, as it mostly didn't rain, and everything was very lush and green...we thought it was lovely.

You are cancelling your trip to SR just because you cannot get Ponheary as your guide and take you to a school. Although she gets great reviews on this board she is not the only good guide in SR. Any good one can take you to a school where you can interact with the lovely kids. Don't wait too long as it gets more crowed evert year

Scotters -- decent point, but we're not cancelling so much as postponing. I've already joined the 'should have gone earlier to SR' club, as I was in PP in 2000 on business and had no extra days for a trip then. I have most definitely been kicking myself.
Cambodia is an amazing place. When I go back, and go to SR, there are some things I want to accomplish, and it wasn't going to happen on such short notice at the height of the tourist season. My bad.
