I stayed at the Central Karon Village in Phuket in July. It's a beautiful resort. With ocean views from every villa. The bathrooms were great. THe breakfast was decent.
Drawbacks. It's far from Patong and Kron Beach. You either have to go by the scheduled shuttle provided by the hotel or find a tuk tuk take you back. It cost about $3 per trip.
It's not that close to Karon beach. They say there is a walkway, but it's a long walk. The walway was clsoed because they are doing building consturuction. But I walked it anyway. It's far and mostly uphill.
I liked the resort however. halet was great, very private feeling and very cheap./ I think I paid $42 a night.

One more thing. The great views are from the fact that the resort is on the face of a hill or cliff. THe pool and spa are at the bottom. THe restaurant is at the top. You can call to have someone pick you up by car, but also be prepared to walk up and down alot of stairs. I still think the resort is a great value.

There are almost no hotels 'on' the beach at Karon, same goes for Patong, only the Cabana in Patong is really on the beach. I don't like having to cross roads to get to the beach. You would be better off staying where you are actually right on the beach.
