Off Topic but leaving Sunday for 3 weeks in Egypt/Jordan then 2 months in Barcelona - blog link here

For the 4th year I will not be participating in winter!

Last year was our wonderful 3 months in SE Asia (with so much help from this board) NZ and OZ.

This year a return to our original plan - renting an apartment for an extended period of time - this year Barcelona for 2 months (with a stop along the way to see the pyramids and Petra).

We're actually not sure we'll like being in one place for so long after our pace last winter and the year before in South America, but we'll willing to try

Will be blogging - here's a link to our horribly self indulgent blog!

Best regards to all

buen viaje- I look forward to following your adventures.

I was just in the Barrio Gotico for 2 days in November and wish I had had more time to explore.

Have a wonderful time!

I loved Jordan! I spent two weeks there a number of years ago. Petra is, of course, fabulous. But do make sure you go to Jerash in the northern part of Jordan.

Egypt, what can I say? It was all larger than life!

I'll be following your blog.

Have a great trip and enjoy Egypt! I fondly recall Abu Simbel and love it and would rate it and Philae temple as my 2 favourite sites in Egypt. I also fondly recall how bad Egyptian wines are so if you like wine bring some bottles from duty free.

Bon Voyage!

Thanks all - Kathie we are visiting Jerash as well as other sights such as Mt Nebo and Karak - Jordan was a complete revelation to us once we started planning!
