Koh Samui airfare

We are going to Koh Samui for 5 nights in mid July and as has been noted here before, the monopoly on the BKK route make the fares expensive even by UK standards. Are there likely to be any discounts nearer the time or are the fares as cheap as they are going to get? I also conscious that as our trip coincides with the AIDS congress, then leaving booking to the last minute might be unwise.

I am also going to Koh Samui in mid July and I have heard fares are not going down.If you leave it to last minute you might not be able to get the flight you want. Which airline are you flying with? I booked my tickets to Bangkok from Lisbon with Air France and asked them to do my booking to Koh Samui. To my surprise, the flight to Koh Samui and return turned out costing me 110 euros instead of the 140 euros it would cost me if I had paid it separately (I saved 90 euros because we are 3 travelling
Check it with your airline and have a nice trip.

That is a good fare. We are looking at about £100 each which is about Euros 150 at current exchange rates. We are flying with Emirates but have already bought our tickets with them so I can try them but I am not hopeful.

John, if you already have your tickets to Bangkok issued maybe it will be difficult to make changes without any penalties. But it doesn't harm to ask Emirates, maybe you'll be lucky. If not, rhkkmk seems to have also made a good buy with seatour. Why not check it? Good luck
