Hong Kong restaurant and location for a single night there
We have a layover in Hong Kong. Plane gets in at 3:00 p.m. one day and leaves at 11:00 a.m. the next day. We're booked to stay at an airport hotel, but plan to go into Hong Kong for the evening. After doing a bit of research, it seems that Victoria Harbor might be the best choice for our limited time.
* Do you have a recommendation for a moderately priced Chinese restaurant in the Victoria Harbor area?
* I read that the airport express lets you off in Central Hong Kong. Is that near Victoria Harbor?
* Is there any other one-night experience we might be missing? Thanks for your help.

Victoria Harbor is the whole harbor area between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. So the area bordering the harbor is very large and there are views of the harbor from many places, many directions. The iconic view of the Harbor is from the Kowloon side.
The airport express can drop you in Central (on Hong Kong Island) or on the Kowloon side.
What kind of Chinese food are you looking for? And what do you consider to be "moderately priced?"
I do recommend that you ride the Star Ferry during your limited time there. You might also go to the Peak if the weather is clear.

We love interesting food and we would prefer to eat the food of the country we're in. I consider moderately priced--$75-$100 per couple. For something REALLY special, we'd pay more. Thanks.

Airport Express to "Hong Kong" Station, which is right on the harbor on HK Island. Take the Star Ferry across the harbor to Tsim Sha Tsui, and right at the Cultural Centre (behind the Clock Tower) is Serenade, a Chinese restaurant with harborview that is a little under your budget. It's part of a chain, and no super-fancy stuff. If you want fancier food, there are others who can give you recommendations including various Michelin-starred "Heens" at various 5* hotels. Also lots of eateries in various TST building with good views from high floored restaurants, including 1 Peking Road and iSquare.
You can take Star Ferry back to Central and take the Airport Express back, or you can use a free shuttle to the Kowloon Station and then transfer to the train.
If you're staying at the Novotel rather than Marriott or Regal, you'll be taking the cheaper Tung Chung Line MTR rather than Airport Exrpess to/from the city. You cannot use the free shuttle, but the Tung Chung Line also has the above-mentioned stops.

Don't miss the "Symphony of Lights" at 8 PM. It's unique and free. We watched from the Peninsula Hotel, and it was quite fun.
Also, does your airport hotel have early morning dim sum? That would be fun to do on your last morning. Some places start serving at 6 AM. Even if you're not starving in the morning, you can at least have a few dishes and enjoy the ambiance.
