Hanoi Romantic Dinner

Looking for options for a romantic special dinner in a garden/old house setting. Prefer French or Asian fusion menu, fairly quiet, a place to linger over desert and coffee..... .

La Badiane was excellent in '09: French-inspired Vietnamese cuisine. Still gets great reviews on Tripadvisor...

We loved La Badiane - expensive for Hanoi, but not by American standards - I think we spent $80 on two cocktails, appetizers, main course and dessert. It was 2011.

Oh, and I think the ambiance at La Badiane is what you're looking for - a residence converted into a restaurant.

My BF said the beef carpaccio is amongst the best he has ever eaten!!! Decor is a bit austere but LOVED this place. Hanoi is in my top 5 places ever.

I don't remember the decor being austere - I remember soft colors and tables spaces wide apart

It was when when we were there ( nov 11) and I seem to remember Craig saying a similar thing, that said food was excellent.
