guide in Siem Reap

Thanks for posting so many interesting guide recommendations, however, I can't seem to find the contact info for Ponheary. Help please.

Many thanks Kristina. I assume you used Ponheary as a guide. Did you let her plan your tour or did you request specific sites etc. We are just in the planning stages, flying first to HK, then Saigon, Angor Wat, Hanoi and so on---.

Hi-
We pretty much let her decide.
My husband and I first toured with her in 2002 and then I went back in 2007 with my Mom. Of course, since my Mom had not been, we did all the major temples again but then Ponheary made sure that I saw some new ones I had not previously visited.

You can see both my trips on my website:

Kristina, I really appreciated your photos and comments on your excellent website. Especially I was interested to read about Ponheary's tragic and moving personal history.

I know this is an old thread, but I chose my tour guide based on recommendations like this I saw searching the forums prior to my trip. I chose Kimsan based on these recommendations, and I want to warn people that Kimsan is not dependable. Even though we booked him way in advance, and reconfirmed several times as the date grew near, he didn't show up and sent a substitute guide with no explanation. The sub was adequate, but not exceptional. Very young with average knowledge and english skills, and he refused to take us to see the famous sunrise over Angkor, he wouldn't start before 8:30 am. He was reluctant to be flexible on which temples we wanted to see. I would not recommend Kimsan as a guide, you can't depend on actually getting him as your guide and you don't know what quality the sub will be.
