Goa to Chenni-Pondicherry-Bangalore then back to Goa
I would like to do the above trip sometime between December and January, does anyone know the best route to go,and which mode of transport to use.
Any ideas on where to stay would be wecome.
I would like to stay in each destination (Bangalore,Pondicherry and Chenni) for 2-3 days.
Last year I went to Shimla,Varanasi Jaipur then Goa using trains and areoplanes.

Why backtrack? I would fly into Goa and out of Chennai, visiting Bangalore after Goa. Sounds like you already know how to look up trains.
Chennai airport is between Chennai and Pondi, and you can arrange a car and driver in Pondi to take you there. Therefore I would fly from Bangalore to Chennai, then take the train or bus to Pondi. Or you can arrange a car and driver and visit Kanchipuram and Mamallapuram on the way.
For my visit to Pondi see:

You'll find some info on Goa on the same site if you dig around.

you can think of starting and ending trip in Chennai and Bangalore as both cities have international airports. You can connect Goa from Bangalore through train but i am not sure if there is any train from Goa to Chennai/Pondicherry. I think it is better to take a flight from Goa to Chennai. There will be some backtracking for this but there is not other option, in case you want to cover only these destinations.

Goa has an international airport. Flights from/via the Middle East.
The Vasco da Gama Express leaves VSG at 14:20, stops at Madgaon at 15:20, and arrives at Chennai at 11:55 the next morning.
Maybe you should do some research before posting.
Yes, there is another option. Didn't you read my post?

I was underwhelmed by Hampi, but since it is hard to get to from anywhere but Goa, good idea to go while you're there. If you are up for terrible roads (although they may be better by now), consider going to Badami: https://mytimetotravel.wordpress.com...rising-badami/
You might also consider Coorg and the Nilgiri hills.

Hi!
You have not mentioned that how many days you are going to spend in South India. Meanwhile, i suggest you to follow the route.
Goa (2 nights), Goa - Badami by road 325kms / Badami to Hampi by road 160kms/ Hampi to Hassan by road 320kms / Hassan to Mysore by road 140kms/ Mysore to Bangalore by road 140kms/Bangalore to Pondicherry 300kms/ Pondicherry to Chennai 100kms. From Chennai you go back to Goa by flight or Train
You shall stay at the above destinations as per your wish.
December and January will be a high peak season, better to book you car and accommodation soon.
