For those who need travel planning assistance

Kathie L has put together, in conjunction with Cheryl, a fantastic series of topics about how to conceive a trip, how to plan it, how to execute it, and how to do all the background things that most people never think of.....

i had the pleasure to be able to read the whole thing this week and i thought it needed a wider distribution... Kathie would never do it herself so i thought i would....

look at: www.travelindependently.com

its amazing what she has put together.....share it with friends and other boards...

This is a wonderful guide to the thought processes that evolve when planning a trip -- great that Kathie has put this in writing.

you two don't need any help, but there are others who will benefit from this well thought out plot...

Thanks for the nice comments. I was inspired to write this by friends and colleagues who asked how I go about planning a trip. I hope my process can be helpful to others.

I'm making one or two posts a week right now. The next one will be up probably tomorrow.

Kathie; Why don't you use consolidators> I have used them periodically to purchase Business Class tickets at 25%-35% above a non-refundable coach ticket even when purchased 4-5 months prior to departure?

Stan I don't use consolidators because I get tremendous benefits from my frequent flier status. Buying through consolidators means no frequent flier miles, often, no pre-assigned seats, etc. And if something goes amiss (missed connection, weather, equipment failure, etc) the consolidator won't help you, and you are at the bottom of the list in terms of who the airline will help. We each work out what works best for us.

Nice job, kathie. [I see we have somewhat different taste in luggage, lol!]

Thanks for the mention, Marija.

Thanks, everyone.

Thursdays, as you know, I've benefitted from info on your blog. Yup, different tastes in luggage... I just can't do backpacks.
