Bhutan paro Tshechu
Planning on visiting Bhutan,on a 5n/6d tour in March and April. I can make March work in order to see the paro festival, but it is not ideal personally. April is much better, but no festivals. The crowds in march are also a concern.
Is Bhutan without festivals a major miss? Do the crowds make festival time too busy?

I just came back from Bhutan, got to see 2 festivals there, Thimphu Tschechu and Gangtey Tschechu (among other things, primarily focusing on cultural touring). Festivals were a major highlight, for me at least. Not to say the trip is a waste without them though. I enjoyed the Gangtey Tschechu more than the Thimphu one better, because it was much less crowded and we got to see everything up close. We also used homestays for 3 out of 7 nights we were in Bhutan, highly recommended (although can be a little rustic).
