Back issues of Acquerello Italiano magazines

This is a "long shot". I have been learning Italian for a few years - which helps with my travel in Italy.

The excellent magazine Acquerello-Italiano ceased publication a couple of years ago. If anyone has back issues that you don't mind sharing or selling, please let me know.

I have issues XII 2-6, XIII 1-2 and XV 1.

Knowing a language when one travels in a country makes the experience so much more enjoyable. People are usually friendlier when one attempts to speak their language. Thanks.

Please send me a message at [email protected]

We can either exchange or if you are willing to part with your back issues I can buy them off you.

I have also found a website called Incontro Italiano. It is cheaper than Acqurello-Italiano and has more issues (monthly), although it seems to be less advanced, because the people talk a bit slower in Incontro Italiano:

However I do like the content: it talks about recent news in Italy, the customs, painters, art - invaluable in knowing more in-depth about Italy.

Thanks

Hello, I happened to be using a search engine to find anyone intrested in parting with or copying their old installments of Acquerello Italiano, and coincidentally saw you on the Fodor site involved in a similar exchange. I've got 7 or 8 which I want to keep, but will be happy to reproduce in exchange for issues I don't have. Anno X and XI mostly. I am keen to get a back issue featuring an interview with an Italian Slow Food chef famous for his militant anti-fast food views. An Italian teacher friend of mine was asking me if I could help make a presentation for her related to slow food, and that iterview would be perfect. I also have a few CDs that I managed to get copied from cassette tapes from the publc library - these are older editions. There are only 2 tracks in that case, one side plays through from start to finish. I might still have photocopied sheets of the text, too.

Are you interested in swapping? If so I can get a detailed list o what I have and we can help each othe out, I hope.

There is an Apple-software based application (or applications) from a company called Plango or plan9o which bought the rights to all the hard work Champs-Elysees had done. If you have a Mac or an Ipad, or Iphone you might be in luck.
Here is the link: http://www.champs-elysees.com/Plango!.html

Among the three of us, I hope we can be of some help to each other.

Sinceramente,

John Galletta, Parma, Ohio

Looks like both of us have X and XI, and I have mostly XII (see my first post).

I have all of the CDs converted to mp3 so they are easy to send by email. I can also easily scanned the booklets into pdf and send them as well.

I don't want to sell mine, but I would gladly do the exchange. You have my email.

BTW - I am also looking to do a little skype practice with another "student" who also is learning Italian. In the past I have done skype with Italians whom I found through Conversation-Exchange, or Shared-Talk. The problem usually is that they want "exchange" which means they want to speak English, and I, Italian. So splitting an hour into 1/2 and 1/2 is not very useful for me. Yes it is important to hear the correct accent, but I also need to practice speaking too.
