Beijing to Mutianyu to Ming Tombs and back on my own?
Hello,
I'd like to take a bus from Beijing out to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. I know I can get there easily by bus, but my question is, can I then get to the Ming Tombs and back via bus? I'd rather not hire a car as I'd like to be leisurely and do this on my own.
Any idea as to whether this is possible? I couldn't find a bus from Mutianyu to the Tombs. Perhaps a taxi is possible?
Many thanks.

We went to the Ming Tombs & Sacred Way about 10 years ago, & I do agree with Marija that the Ming Tombs aren't worth the trouble of getting there. We did enjoy the Sacred Way but if it's a lot of trouble to go there from Mutianyu, it might not be worth it. We went on a day trip from our hotel which included seeing the Great Wall at Badaling, then stopping at the Ming Tombs.

> Has anyone been to the Qin tombs in Xi'an?
Do you mean the Tomb of Qin Shi Huang? I'm not sure that it is worth visiting - I chose not to. But the nearby Terracotta Warriors that were built to quard the tomb is an astounding site, well worth the visit.
