12 days in Thailand itinerary

Spending Christmas and New Years in Thailand and wondering if the following itinerary is good. Gay couple in our 30s and are drawn to the Phuket for NYE. Was a tough choice but had to cut out Chiang Mai and focus more on the islands.

Day 1: arrive 11pm in BKK
Day 2-5: Bangkok. Explore city, floating marketing + possible day trip Ayutthaya (spelling?)
Day 6: BKK>>Krabi, arrive 11am, relax
Day 7: explore Railay/Krabi area, beach
Day 8: day trip to Phi Phi (or one-way and spend night in PhiPhi)
Day 9: ferry to Phuket, relax
Day 10: relax in Phuket
Day 11 (NYE): relax, beach party, etc..
Day 12 (Jan 1): hang-over, beach, relax
Day 13: 3pm flight out of PHK

Basically, 4 days in BKK, 3 in Krabi and 4 in PHK

Is this sound?

A few recommendations: I'd cut the trip to the floating market as it's a complete tourist trap. Take a day trip to Ayutthaya instead.

I'd cut the day trip to PhiPhi, as it has become the definition of over-touristed. Also, consider choosing just one beach area so you don't use up so much of your time in transit. Every time you change locations, you lose the time you spend packing and unpacking, checking out and checking in as well as the actual transit.. It may not sound like a lot, but it does add up.

Have a wonderful time!

"Day 13: 3pm flight out of PHK.."

Do you mean fly out of Phuket? (HKT.)

Does your flight from Phuket connect with a flight out of Bangkok for the ride home? In other words did you fly round trip to Bangkok and must return there to fly home?

If you fly home from Bangkok why not schedule a final night in Bangkok? If you fly into Bangkok at the last minute that connecting flight could be late or cancelled due to breakdowns or something.

Christmas and New Years holidays and following week or two is high season. Don't wait to the last minute to book your hotel rooms. Some hotels charge a party fee for Christmas and maybe New Years Eve too.

No problem changing money in Thailand. You will get a better rate in Thailand than another country.

Have a nice trip.

sorry just getting back to this.
We fly direct from Phuket to Hong Kong where we spend 2 days before going home direct to NYC.
In Krabi, we decided to stay on Railay beach for 3 days. What is the most spectacular day trip that we can do from either Railay or Phuket? if not Phi Phi, than Phan Nga Bay?
