Where to meet arrival in international terminal ORD

Hello,

Our daughter will be arriving at the international terminal at ORD from Narita Japan. Where inside the terminal would be a good place to meet. She is 14 yo and will have a charperone to get her thru customs/immigration. Any very easy to find place where we could meet??

Thank you.

Which airline?

The exit from the secure part of the international terminal at least where American and United have their baggage claime is very small. One pair of doors. You can't miss someone coming out. And there is not that much room between the exit from the secure part to the exit onto the side walk so little room to wander around to get lost.

Can't speak for other airlines though.

Outside customs door. It's really that simple. Nothing to worry about.

I just picked up my daughter at O'Hare's international terminal this afternoon. There are two exit doors for arriving international passengers--Exit A and Exit B. They are a couple hundred feet apart (but I'm bad at guessing distances) on the same wall. There are two banks of arrivals monitors in between the two doors, and these will indicate which exit door a particular flight will use, although exiting passengers may be able to use either one.

As noted above, you could meet outside the exit listed for your daughter's flight. That's what we did. It was pretty crowded at our exit, but we didn't have any problems meeting up.

Some alternatives: there's a large "Explore Chicago" desk located along the wall between the two exits. It wasn't as crowded as the areas right outside the exit doors. Or, immediately across the hall from the Explore Chicago desk (on the outside wall of the terminal) is a News Chicago shop. Either of those might make good landmarks for meeting up. There's also a McDonald's to the left of Exit B (when facing toward the door). Hope that helps.

I would agree that it is really quite easy to find someone at their exit door (A or B). I've done it numerous times. I don't think you will have a problem.
