Showers at LHR's Terminal 5
I will have a very long layover at LHR, flying BA. I will have about 6.5 hours at LHR between 2 very long flights and a shower would be great. I am using an award ticket and I was unable to get biz class so I will be in coach. I know that BA has a lounge but it looks like they don't sell day passes to poor little peons like me who must fly coach.
Is there another place at T5 where I can get a shower?
Thanks.

<there are no public showers anywhere at LHR>
janisj, Has this changed?
I used a public shower facility at Heathrow during a layover (don't remember which terminal) but that was at least 10 years ago.

I seem to remember years ago seeing showers (but that may have been at LGW -- all my trips do tend to blur after a while)
But I just double-checked the LHR website and apparently there are no public showers except in lounges -- so they'd be restricted and/or airside.

I'm thinking maybe the showers were at Terminal 2? It was in a location that was convenient when I was transferring flights. It was a public facility where you paid for a towel and soap packet, and were given a private white-tiled room with bench, shower, toilet, sink, hair dryer, etc. It was basic but felt quite lovely to be able to freshen up like that.
I am not saying they are still there, only that I most definitely DID shower coming thru Heathrow one trip!

If you don't mind switching terminals you could book into No. 1 Traveller Lounge in Terminal 3:

"where did suze say anything about T-5?".
She didn't but the op's flights are in/out of T5.
T5 isn't exactly close to T1/2/3 or T4 and it's not possible to get airside in a terminal other than that of your departure flight.
