Great restaurant within taxi ride from LAX Los Angeles? X-Post
We're staying at the Hilton LAX for one night before we head off to France and we'd like to find a great restaurant for dinner. We likely wont take a car for one night, so we're looking for a recommendation within a reasonable taxi ride from LAX airport vicinity. We love seafood and ethnic foods, that would be my first choice, would LOVE to have Cuban food, maybe see live Latin music, but I'm not sure how available that is in the area.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

I think that the Versailles in Manhattan beach (1000 North Sepulveda) could meet your requirements of proximity and,as far as I can tell, authentic Cuban food.
Regarding seafood, there are several restaurants in Marina Del Rey which can be reasonably reached by taxi. I would rely on the hotel concierge for which ones are the most reliable.

What night will you be there? www.theminotaure.com has live flamenco on weekends. We recently took friends there who were staying near LAX. I've had better tapas but the location is very convenient to the airport. I thought certain items were very good while others were just so so.
I've never been to the Manhattan Beach Versailles but the one La Cienega is basically just a dive. Having said that, I'm salivating right now thinking about their roast pork

Me? I like their food. Lots of meat. If you don't like meat, then probably should go somewhere.
I went with my labmates. I thought I had never had Cuban food before but that was not true. I went to Gloria Estefan's Bongos Cuban Cafe at Disney Downtown in Orlando some years ago.
I like Versailles much better (it's much cheaper too). In fact, I didn't like that food at Gloria Estefan's at all.
