Frontier Airlines?
I'm seeing some ridiculously low airfares to Denver for this summer (july) on Frontier- wondering about the health of the airline - anyone flown them recently or have any inside knowledge about their viability?

I think they are fine. Bankruptcy with an airline doesn't mean much and I seriously doubt if they will fold tomorrow or even next month. We flew Frontier last weekend from Chicago to Denver and it was an excellent flight. Book 'em, you will be fine.

A lot can happen between now and July. They are not going to close shop tomorrow, but who knows 5 months from now? In this economy and falling demand, nobody can say any small airline is completely safe.

I read in the Colorado Springs Gazette very recently that Frontier just posted a profit, one of few airlines to do so. We just flew them to Las Vegas on Feb. 11th, and enjoyed the friendly service. Sure, I'm biased in favor of patronizing Colorado business, but honestly, I'd say no worries.

Thanks everyone - I pulled the trigger on the $129 flights in July - not too much at risk at that price - never flown them before but after doing some research seems like a good airline and a great price on a direct flight!
