Delta 747-400 (ok really NWA with new paint)
and really bitter employee comments...
My question... are they changing the interior too? Are they changing World Business to the DL product (or the new flatbeds)?

rkkwan you're probably right. Delta isn't looking to spend any extra money these days.
But, I did just ask the same question on the Delta blog. If any info comes from there, I'll update this thread.

Most of NW's 744 went into service in 1989-90, though there are a few newer ones delivered between 1999-2002. NW was one of the earliest customers for the sub-model along with Cathay Pacific, British Airways, KLM and Lufthansa.
They still operate some DC-9s built in the 1960's, though they're retiring them fairly quickly.

The DC-9 is clearly a great aircraft. Not only are some still flying after 40 years in service, the basic design was good enough to be updated constantly to the various DC-9 versions, plus all the MD-80s, MD-90s, and the Boeing 717.
Thousands were built if you count all the variants and subsequent derivatives.

The last 747-400 passenger was delivered in 2005. And there were only a handful of 747-400F still not delivered.
The 747-8s are being delayed along with the 787 due to the recent strike and other production problems.
