Serengeti Tented Camps
I am traveling to the Serengeti in June 28-31st. I am interested in your opinions of which camp we should stay at. We want to see the BIG FIVE and the migration. We are NOT looking to spend more than $2500 per person for the 3 nights.
Please post your thoughts! Thanks!

We stayed at Nomad Safari's tented camp near Ndutu in January (it is semi mobile so will likely be somewhere else in June - highly recommend it and the guide we had (Felix Mollel) - see our trip report here

In the Western Serengeti where you'll catch the Migration, there are a number of lux tented camps as: Kirawira, Mbalageti, Serengeti Under Canvas, maybe Nomad's will be sited here. In Central Serengeti, only a 2/hr game drive to/from the West (and an area with resident game year-round) there's Lemala Ewanjan and Dunia Camps.
Check these out for rates and availability. When you're traveling is peak-season and often space is booked months in advance.
Rates (will range from $500&Up per person/nt + air to/from) should include: room/tent, meals, game drives, airstrip transfers, VAT any other taxes. Most of the above also include your beverages: soft-drinks, beer, house wines.
Except if staying at Nomad's where they offer exclusive use of vehicle per tent, the others camps provide game drives on a shared basis with other guests.
Don't forget - flights to/from Central or Western Serengeti.
Good luck!

A tented camp in Western and/or Serengeti in June will be great. But you can't count on seeing the Big 5. Rhino are rare in the Serengeti, though you'll have a better chance if you also go to Ngorongoro Crater. Combining the crater and Serengeti is common. Leopard are also elusive, but the Central Serengeti is one of the best places in East Africa to see them. Whether or not the Big 5 appear, you'll have some fantastic sightings.

Swajih,
there are a number of seasonal camps available during the migration, I can't remember the companies who were offering this type of safari experience, but I think one was Kibo ??.
The information I received was from Good Earth tours, www.goodearthtours.com however I'm sure many of the Arusha based operators are able to sell these seasonal camps. They didn't look luxurious, but certainly promised a wild experience during the migration. I recall that the price was reasonable $250-$350 per day, but I don't know what this included and these figures were quoted in 2008 by a guide and not a sales person.
Happy planning,
Pol
