Odyssey Tour to Egypt
Has any one taken the Odyssey tour "Egypt and the Eternal Nile"? Seems expensive but the tour looks good and 17 Days seems like enough time to visit Egypt and Alexandria.
Would be interested in the good and bad from anyone who has gone on this tour.

Yes, it is a great tour company, in my humble opinion. I think it is a 'step above' OAT or Grand Circle (and I've traveled with both of these 2 companies). We've traveled to China with OdysseyUnlimited and found the accomodations and guide to be extraordinary. I would heartily recommend you take the trip!

I am leaving on Sunday for "Egypt and the Eternal Nile" and will be happy to let you know how it goes. I return on 11/21.I shall try to remember how I got to this forum.
I tend to price things out by how much it is per day and when you consider all the flying involved, the fact that they take care of tipping and the meals that are included, it really isn't bad.

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I was beginning to think I was the only one taking this trip. Missoulasue! I would be very interested in your trip report or at least a few lines on the high and low points of your trip. My wife and I are booked for this tour departing 14 March 2010 so we have time to make other arrangements.

I have saved this forum as a favorite so I will be able to find it easily upon my return. I can tell you now that I am already impressed with the customer service at Odysseys. E-mailed questions have been answered promptly, satisfactorily and professionaly. I've even had them telephone me an hour after I e-mailed a question.

Since your returning on Nov 21 you are probably taking the Petra extension. Will be most interested to hear if you thought it was worth the price.

I would love to know how your trip goes as I am trying to put together a last minute trip to Egypt and Jordan on my own if its possible. Just got another quote-cheap end is $3500 a person for 11 days so for our family of four it will be $14000 which I think is really high without airfare?

Dutyfree... I have a quote from LadyEgypt for private tour for 15 nights, 5 star with all the regular highlights in it and the cost is about $US2300 per person. It does seem high, and I agree, especially when you have to add in the airfares and other incidentals.

Just returned from Odysseys' Egypt and the Eternal Nile with the extension to Jordan. It was fantastic! You are treated like a VIP all the way, our guide was the best and I will absolutely be traveling with Odysseys again.

72277227, I did try to e-mail you direct, but it wouldn't go through for some reason. My e-mail is [email protected] if you want to contact me outside the forum, but I can tell you that you will love this tour.

We pondered Jordan, with Elizabeth S's suggestion, but I thought I might have "ancient artifact" overload. One other option I thought for a side trip, instead of to Jordan was the UK... not done that. Although the Egypt ground tour is booked, I can change it, but I haven't booked flights so I do have a lot more flexibility. (Gee Dubai is dear!)
